True Connections is extremely proud to announce that we will be welcoming an advanced psychology doctoral student at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, to our Training Clinic beginning in September, 2026.  The first goal of this clinic is to provide psychologist-in-training with high-quality Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy training as a foundational part of their educational experience.  The second goal is to bring more affordable EFCT to Illinois couples and individuals seeing relationship therapy.

Wondering if services from a therapist trainee are effective?  The answer is a resounding yes!  The research on therapy outcomes shows that therapists in training achieve similar outcomes for clients as more seasoned therapists, particularly for evidence-based therapies (like EFCT).  This makes sense when you consider that trainees typically have smaller caseloads, have much more focused time for each client, and are receiving supervision on every case.  Dr. Mohr has over 20 years of clinical experience that she brings to EFCT training and supervision.  She is committed to ensuring that all services provided through True Connections Couples and Relationship Therapy are of the exceptional quality your relationships deserve.
